The CONTENS social workplace is the modern Intranet for a fast and up-to-date exchange of information within the company. Thanks to Newsfeed, Forum, Groups, integrated News and individual profile, the Social Workplace can be easily adapted to the company's needs.

Newsfeed

The newsfeed is the continuous information stream, keeping the employees up to date. In addition to posts with photos and downloads, status changes and content from other applications can be integrated. Who can publish content and whether posts may be commented on is also configurable.

Profiles

Profiles are used to search for employees within the company. The profile structure can be easily adapted to individual project requirements. Company-relevant information may be mapped to the profiles, e.g. specific project experience, regional knowledge, languages and much more. Extensive search and filter options complete the profile pages.

Forum

In the open forum, employees exchange ideas on specific topics and provide mutual assistance to professional questions. The newsfeed informs about new topics and updates in the forum.

Groups

Groups can be created as open and closed areas. They are used for project-related collaboration and exchange of information. In addition to a newsfeed, groups include a forum, a media area for sharing files, and a member overview.

Media

Groups are especially practical for project-related cooperation, and the exchange of information and documents. In the media section all documents provided by the members of a group can be found in a clear tile layout. A central location for media is much more useful than sending documents by email.

Employee

One of the most valuable functions in a social workplace is the list of employees. It provides quick access to employee profiles and contact details. In the Social Workplace, the profiles can be filtered and sorted according to different criteria.

Calendar

In the calendar important dates and events are displayed clearly. With the month view, dates are displayed for each day. In addition to the month view, additional views may be selected for weeks or days.

Events

The events section displays an overview of the company's events. They can be filtered by categories and by events, to which the respective user is registered as attending. This sorting can be done according to "upcoming", "latest" or "alphabetical".

Chat

Integrated chat is an efficient and popular form of fast, internal communication between two users of the Social Workplace. For short-term coordination of simple topics, the chat offers many advantages over communication via email or telephone.

LDAP

LDAP synchronization allows faster setup because user profiles based on Active Directory entries can be pre-created and kept up-to-date. Any number of LDAP directory servers can be connected, for example, for different locations of a company. It can be configured which fields of employee records are copied to the Social Workplace and which fields can be maintained by the employee in the Social Workplace. These are automatically synchronized back to the LDAP directory. Likewise, profile pictures can be uploaded via the Social Workplace, which are transferred to the LDAP directory and made available there as profile pictures in MS Outlook.
